Organically sourced dried and powdered Rauwolfia vomitoria root tea. Rauwolfia vomitoria is an interesting plant. It contains reserpine, a biologically active plant chemical responsible for its medicinal properties. Reserpine was approved by the FDA in 1955 to treat mild/moderate hypertension. They later withdrew approval for products containing more than 1mg of reserpine. This is because of its side effects at high doses. At high doses, it causes Parkinsonism, general weakness, and fatigue, even cancers
Please Note: Not to be used when breastfeeding because it passes easily into breast milk. In herbal medicine, it is used in tiny amounts to treat certain illnesses. The dose is no more than 1-3 pinches per day.
